School History

Elrod Elementary School, located in Houston, Texas, is a magnet school with a history of serving the community. It was originally built in 1964 and named for Horace W. Elrod, a respected principal within Houston Independent School District. Over the years, the school has undergone renovations and improvements, including upgrades to its safety and security systems and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The school also became a math and science magnet school.
