Each grade level explores a different medical theme or focus, tailored to their age and development. Our hands-on, inquiry-based learning model helps students:

At Elrod, we don’t just teach — we inspire future doctors, nurses, researchers, and innovators. Our mission is to ensure every child has the opportunity to see themselves in the medical world and be ready for the journey ahead.

Elrod’s Magnet School Application Process:

• Complete Application: Submit a comprehensive application through the HISD Office of School Choice, selecting Elrod ES as your first choice, followed by other schools you are interested in.
• Lottery Process: Admission to Elrod’s Emerging Medical Scholars is determined by a lottery system.

• Elrod is a School-Wide Magnet Campus, there are NO requirements to apply — just the desire to be part of an A-Rated school!

• The only document required is proof of address which may include: resident's current electric bill, natural gas bill, City of Houston water bill, or a valid lease agreement (if the residence is an apartment).APPLY NOW
